Today, we are gonna take...
Today, we are gonna take a glimpse of the world of hip-hop. As I mentioned yesterday, I'm not a specialist nor am I to recommend my prefference to anyone. I think of myself as a typical music lover whose favorite songs are not far from the taste of many other typical people. Having said that, I believe that anyone who likes music has got to have listened to Eminem. It's not the matter of choice. If you like music, you just get to listen to songs like "Stan", "Without me", "Lose yourself", and "Mocking Bird."
Singing along to a hip-hop song is one of the effective ways to get a flexible tongue, and in that respect, Eminem is one of the best singers for English learners. Although he uses tons of four letter words, his pronounciation is cristal clear and his songs usually have many useful expressions, which you may want to use.
He is distinctive from many other rappers. As you may have noticed, he is white in a predominantly black genre. It must have a huge pressure to him.
Suppose you are the only one in a group of 1000 black guys standing to sing what you are not supposed to sing. A white guy singing a hip-hop was thought as strange as a black guy doing rock. He was laughed at and outcast. In "8 miles" is the story of his unhappy youth. I don't know how close the movie is to his real life, but it was certain that he grew up in a not very good envirionment.
What I like about his music is that he has his story and his ability to create lyrics and break them down to rhyme is unbelievable.
